"YOU CAN CHANGE THE GAME OF BASKETBALL IF YOU HELP CHANGE THE CHARACTER OF A PLAYER..."

ROGER'S PASSION

Romans 12:1 says, " Therefore, I urge you, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship". I feel that over the course of my life, and especially the last few years, God has been urging me on to commit my life as a living sacrifice by fully devoting my life to God. What does that mean to me? It means that God is not only at the center of my life, but that I live everyday to seek His Kingdom…first. The purpose of this foundation is that I use my gifts and talents to please Him.

In light of His great love, God has instilled a passion in my heart for young athletes. To see Godly character exhibited in their lives today is something very dear to my heart. My passion is to see young brothers and sisters in Christ proclaiming his name and not being ashamed to do so.

I can personally sympathize with the pressures that today's younger generation is experiencing, let alone the struggles that Christians go through when they are open to others about their faith. In this culture it is not easy to share one's faith without being frowned upon, even from people we consider to be our friends. Or, to stand up for what is right when the majority is pressuring you to do the wrong thing. I have experienced this struggle and by the grace of God overcame my fears and insecurities to not only openly express my faith, but to embrace it publicly. My ever-growing hunger to see God glorified were the seeds for this foundation.

God has given me the desire to see young athletes stand up for what is right and exhibit character, integrity, and leadership on their campuses. My prayer is that my life would be used to strengthen and give encouragement to youth for His Kingdom's sake, and to see the children that God loves so much, come to embrace Him and His Words.
